The Takata Race Evo 8 Bucket Seat Package includes a Takata Race LE competition bucket seat with Evo 8-specific side mount brackets and a Takata Drift III Snap-On harness. The Evo 8 (CT9A early series) was the first Evolution generation to be sold in the UK as a full standard production model rather than a special import, making it the most widely available classic CT9A generation.

The Evo 8’s 4G63 produced 265hp in UK specification on a Garrett TD05H turbo, with stronger internal forging than earlier 4G63 variants. The RS variant deleted AYC, air conditioning, ABS, and the rear wiper to cut approximately 30kg, making it a popular base for club motorsport builds where the deleted electronics are replaced by adjustable mechanical components. The GSR retained Active Yaw Control and is the more road-friendly version of the two.

The Evo 8 arrived with the CT9A’s established floor geometry that carries through to the Evo 9; the side mount bracket set in this package is specific to the 8’s floor points.

The Drift III harness included is Road and Track approved, not FIA competition legal. Package options: Seat Width (Standard or Excel Width), Sport Seat Position (RHD Driver Side or RHD Passenger Side), Webbing Colour (Black or Green).

What do I need to fit it to my car?
The car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner if you want fore-and-aft adjustment. Our guide on base mount versus side mount walks through the whole stack, and tell us your car and we will quote the full kit.

How do I know it will feel right, not just fit on paper?
Makers publish widths and weights, never feel, and two seats with identical numbers can feel nothing alike. We keep the ranges on display in the showroom, you are welcome to come and sit in them, and our head support measurements guide shows the kind of real-world data we collect.

Availability

The harnesses are stocked, the seats are not

Takata harnesses are produced in batches and we take deliveries weekly, so belts like the Drift III are generally kept in stock for fast dispatch.

Takata seats are a different matter. Each one is handmade to order to Takata specification and takes 4 to 8 weeks. They are not stocked items.

A seat built for your order falls under our special order terms. Tell us your date when you enquire and we will confirm the current production time.

In-store displays:

Alongside this, we also stock and display HANS devices, harnesses, race-wear, race-suits, FIA helmets and various other safety equipment. If you are looking to visit us to see and try any particular seat or product, please contact us in advance and we’ll be happy to help.

In-Store appointments:

Due to the specialist nature of our services, we do ask that you please contact us in advance to book an appointment. We have multiple slots available each day including selected availability at the weekend.

Working by appointment allows us to dedicate our time with you and provide a personal and professional service. We’ll always ensure you leave with the right equipment for your needs.
